Everyone who's come up on my bad side is now dead.
And I'd lean more towards the talking, since a dragon here might be an actual person.
[He can't hear her, but she does laugh at his last comment.]
You would think that, but Caleb and my friend Scanlan can cast a spell that summons a mansion filled with servants. The spell lasts for twenty-four hours and comes with everything you need to enjoy yourself for that time frame.
yuri has no idea how to respond to that last thing, and stares at his Relic for a long time, typing, then stopping, then typing again. for starters: he doesn't like the idea of servants at all, so this whole line of conversation bothers him. for two: are these real people? fictions that are summoned up by magic? real people pulled from their lives? three: the hell? magic can do that? ]
I've learned that magic on my world and others is very different. However, it's so convenient to be able to summon a place to sleep overnight while traveling and have spectral servants bring cooked food out when your hungry.
That sounds like our situation until Scanlan found a book with the spell in it. It took him a week of reading to finally learn how to summon the mansion.
And then it was filled with spectral servants who were all women with large breasts and could only make roasted chicken. For every meal.
Yes, he's the one that none of us are really happy with. Although, I miss him, despite wanting to let Grog punch him a few times.
Well, Scanlan was the only member of our party who could cast the spell. It's incredibly useful, since only those he *wants* can even see the door, making it the best place to stay when you're basically on the run from a group of powerful, ancient, murderous dragons.
And the magic of the spell corresponds to the person who casts it. When Scanlan casts it, it appears to be his chicken-filled love den with rooms that are set aside for each of us to use, so there's that. When Caleb casts it, it appears to be a large magical tower with walking, talking cats to serve us. So, personal taste is taken into account.
