My brother and I bicker mercilessly, but we've gotten along surprisingly well since we got here, so I think it's been that way for a lot of us. It helps to have comrades against a common foe in times of tribulation.

It sounds like he just wants to be loved by someone who will accept him for who he is. I can sympathize with that, even if his methods leave much to be desired. Perhaps after he's suffered so much abuse, he will behave.
