[Vex returns to their room, taking her time to acknowledge the fact that Percy didn't give her a gift publicly. She also hasn't given him his Winter's Crest gift publicly, but he made a rather big deal (for him) to do so for the rest of Vox Machina.
She moves over to the small vanity and begins to take out the feathers and pins from her hair as she looks in the mirror to watch him. He is handsome in his not-so-casual leaning against the footboard of their bed. His hand is nearly hovering over his jutting pocket. She'd have to be blind to not notice it. As she pulls the last of the white feathers from her hair, she turns to stare at him, a fond smile on her lips.]
I could make a joke about being happy to see me, but I think we're beyond those at this point, Percy.
[He fishes the small box out of his pocket. It's little, and unlike his other gifts, actually wrapped nicely - it has a bow around the brown paper. He does hesitate before handing it to her.
While she's opening it, he straightens and approaches her, then takes her left hand in his once she reveals the small jewelry box within. It can be opened one-handed. He moves to kneel, as is traditional in these times - the box contains a slim golden band, etched in careful elvish with a simple phrase: "Always yours, and you always mine."]
I figured I've done this before for you - can't do much worse this time, but... I'm rambling. Vex. I know you know me as your spouse, formally, and I might catch up here and see you the same way, but I'd like to make it official in the traditions held here as well.
[Mistress of Ravens take her, but he has no idea how fucking attractive she finds that out of place gesture of his. It's so rare that he feels quite as nervous as he appears (to her) that she watches him even more carefully.
However, all the air feels as if it's been sucked out of the room when he places the tiny, perfectly wrapped box in her hands. He doesn't know it, but he's mimicking her past and his future with this scene.
Vex takes a shuddery breath as she opens the box to stare at the ring and its engraving before looking at the man before her, suddenly feeling on the verge of tears, but with happiness.]
You could ask me everyday, but my answer would always be the same. There is no one else I'd rather marry than you, Percy.
[She's been his since their first trip to the Feywild and they both know it.]
Perhaps this time, we can have more than just Zahra in attendance.
